About

MISSION

Foothills Playhouse, is a non-profit organization, dedicated to providing Family-Friendly, Live Theatre for the whole family. Our goal is to put the Community in Community Theatre, and we strive to enhance our presence in the community, as well as the community's presence in the theatre.

History

FHP was established in 1981 by a group of dedicated individuals. Known originally as the Easley Community Theatre, they produced four adult shows at Easley High School during their debut season.

Over the last 40 years, it has evolved into the Foothills Playhouse, has changed locations from the high school to the Foothills Mall, and finally in 1991 to West End Hall, where it still resides..

In the fall of 2018, a proposed merger with another area Theatre was in place. After reviewing all of the details, both theatres decided against the merger. Foothills Playhouse still remains a true Community Theatre in Easley, and has no plans to change course. In May of 2019, the Board of Directors voted to hire a part-time Executive Artistic Director to help the theatre continue to grow. The EAD, along with the Board of Directors, has adopted a Family Friendly Pledge for the theatre, as well as revamped sponsorship levels for advertisers. We are excited about our 43rd season - and are looking forward to many more years in Easley!
